What causes male pattern baldness?
In short, typical male pattern baldness is caused by genetics and the by-product of testosterone which is DHT. This is the most common type of hair loss. Some people’s hair follicles are very sensitive to DHT. This causes the hair to fall out and miniaturize slowly over time. You will typically notice your hairline to slowly thin out and slowly your temples will move back. However male pattern baldness can occur differently for everyone. Some people will lose their crown first and others will deal with diffuse thinning. Diffuse thinning is when all the hair on the top of your head slowly miniaturizes. Typically this form of hair loss is harder to catch, as it’ll appear as you have a full head of hair; with no change in the hairline. It is crucial to block DHT when treating hair loss.
